20 Years ago - Tickets to see Sheryl Crow at the State Theater in Detroit were hard to come by in 1995. So, on March 30, Sheryl, Todd Wolfe and R Scott Bryan played a private show for pediatric patients at Henry Ford Hospital. Sheryl “wanted to bring a smile to the children’s faces and give them a positive memory of their hospital stay.” (Photo: HFH Staff)

I vividly remember the Waltrip's Chevrolet Silverado truck bearing the Sheryl Crow special paint theme for the 2004 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series!

"I am a huge fan of Chevrolet, Sheryl Crow, Lowe's Motor Speedway and the Craftsman Truck Series, so obviously I can't wait to be the first participant in this Celebrity All-Star program."

Sheryl holds her three Grammy Awards at the 37th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on March 1, 1995.

She won in the following categories: Best Female Pop Vocal Performance ("All I Wanna Do"), Best New Artist and Record of the Year ("All I Wanna Do").

Here's the video of the presentation

She was also nominated in the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance category for "I'm Gonna Be a Wheel Someday" (featured in the "Fast Track To Nowhere" Showtime CD), although she lost to Melissa Etheridge's "Come To My Window".

- PERSONAL NOTES -

I've never been a huge fan of the showbiz music awards. They tend to award an artist for their most popular (and commercially-hyped) works and not necessarily for their _best_ works. Also, award winning songs are in many cases both overrated and overplayed to death! Haha.

That said, I recognize the importance of the most popular awards in terms of personal achievement, prestige and, well, ca$h :-) So i'm obviously happy when Sheryl gets a music award, but at the same time I can't help but think of all the other good songs she wrote (or co-wrote) and which are often underrated or worst, forgotten.

Perhaps it's superfluous to mention, but Sheryl's talent and greatness goes beyond those award winning hits.
