For 15 years, Odessa's Education Foundation has hosted concerts to help raise funds for the Ector County ISD. On Thursday morning, the foundation announced this year's headliner as nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow. Crow will perform on Sept. 27 at Ector County Coliseum.
"What a thrill it is to have this iconic performer grace the Education Foundation's stage this year," president Terry Richey said in a press release.
Reserved seats tickets go on sale Friday, July 1 at 10 a.m. at the box office, online or by calling 800-514-3849. Ticket prices range from $49-$79. For those interested in sponsoring a table, call 432-456-7059.
Since 2000, the foundation has awarded more than $2 million dollars to ECISD teachers as well as assist in funding for projects outside of budgetary restrictions.
Crow is currently working on two albums while also performing a small number of shows throughout the country. Primarily known for her pop and rock hits such as "My Favorite Mistake" and "Every Day is a Winding Road," she went full-on country in her 2013 release "Feels Like Home."
"The entire board is thrilled to feature Ms. Crow as entertainment at this year's banquet and fundraiser," concert co-chair Jay Arrick said. "It promises to be a truly great show."

[NEWS] Sheryl Announced As Panelist On ABC’s “Match Game”
I found these sneaky shots taken yesterday at the ABC Studios in New York City during the taping of Match Game. In short, ABC is currently taping the next batch of episodes for its revival of Match Game and announced the newest celebrity panelists. Sheryl will be joining the panel, along with Jason Alexander, Natasha Lyonne, Sarah Palin, and more.
Ah, I almost forgot! Match Game will air Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
Sheryl Crow’s concert at Fraze Pavilion in Kettering on Thursday, June 30 is one of only a handful of summer dates on her calendar, but she isn’t on vacation.
The multiple-Grammy Award winner and mother of two young sons is currently working on two albums at her home studio in Nashville.
“We’re like the honorary house band at Fraze Pavilion,” said Crow, who performed at the outdoor amphitheater in 1998, 2003, 2010 and 2013. “It’s a great place to play, and it’s so fun because the audience is right there, so close to you. It’s a beautiful setting and we have so much fun, so I’m looking forward to getting back there.
"I’ve really stayed home this year to raise my boys and to keep them in sort of a normal, stable environment,” Crow continued. “I’m usually touring a lot, and I drag them around with me but they’re getting older. I felt like it was a good time to stay home and do some writing and recording.”
One of Crow’s current projects is a collaborative record featuring heavyweights like Keith Richards and Neil Young.
“I decided after the country record last year to make a record with friends and people who have meant so much to me through my 26 years as a professional musician,” Crow said. “They’re all friends of mine through my career, people I’ve worked with and who inspired me before I ever embarked on having a career in music. It’s been a real project of love and joy.”
Crow is working with her old friend Jeff Trott on the proper follow up to “Feels Like Home” (2013).
“We got together for 10 days and wrote a bunch of songs,” she said. “We hadn’t written together for a while so it was great fun. It’s a straight up Sheryl Crow record. It’s the same kind of thing I’ve done through the years but, so far, it’s pretty raw. I’m really excited about it coming out. It’s gonna be a really cool record.”
Recording at home gives her a chance to work around the schedules of her sons, ages six and nine.
“I’ve got a studio in my barn,” Crow said. “It’s been great for my kids to be in and out of the studio while I’m working. They’re able to be a part of what I’m doing. When they came along, I already had a pretty well-established career with a bunch of hits."
“We’d go out and play but they didn’t get to be around the creative process because it’s hard work,” she continued. “I’m trying to instill in them that the work that goes into it is more important than being famous or well known.”

"So thrilled (as you can see from my enormous smile) I got to see this woman while I was in Nashville. She used to carry me around as a baby when she & my dad toured with Michael Jackson in the 80's. Twenty years later I was singing background for her!!! I learned so much about singing and songwriting and got to perform with some of the most amazing musicians on those tours. Love you Sheryl!!"

[NEWS] Sheryl Crow to perform at Scott Hamilton benefit event
Bridgestone Arena: sometimes it's a ice skating rink (for Nashville Predators games), and sometimes it's a concert venue. On November 20, it'll be both.
That's when "An Evening with Scott Hamilton and Friends" is set to take place at the arena. The Olympic gold medalist, local resident and cancer survivor is hosting the fundraising event, which will feature a dozen figure skating champions performing on the ice, along with an all-star concert led by Sheryl Crow.
All proceeds will support cancer research via the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation. Along with the figure skaters on the ice, fellow Olympic champion Kristi Yamaguchi will co-host the show with Hamilton.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21 via Ticketmaster.
Yep! Sheryl Crow makes the list! I love that album. It has always been my favorite. And what a dream team: Sheryl, Jeff Trott, Brian MacLeod, Trina Shoemaker, Tchad Blake, Mitchell Froom... truly talented people.

[ADS] Video Oldsmobile Bravada "A Change" + SmartTraks (1999)
This is likely one of the less known TV commercials with a Sheryl Crow song in it. The Bravada was the only Sport Utility Vehicle model ever produced by the now defunct Oldsmobile. Production lasted from 1991 until 2004, when the then 107-year-old brand was phased out by the owner (GM).
The 1996 hit "A Change Would Do You Good" was chosen as theme song for the 1999 ad campaign.
The cool thing was that everyone who took a test-drive received from a Oldsmobile salesperson an exclusive free autographed Sheryl Crow "SmartTraks" CD. This promotional album was only available through Oldsmobile dealerships.
Here's the 7-track CD presented in custom picture sleeve
1. A Change Would Do You Good
2. Can't Cry Anymore
3. The Difficult Kind
5. My Favorite Mistake
7. Everyday Is A Winding Road

[NEWS] Sheryl Crow Named Hologic's Spokesperson for New Breast Cancer Educational Campaign
Award-winning performer and breast cancer survivor to educate women about early detection and the Genius™ 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ exam
08:00 ET from Hologic, Inc.
MARLBOROUGH, Mass., June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Hologic, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOLX) announced today that nine-time Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter and breast cancer survivor Sheryl Crow will serve as national spokesperson to educate women about a more accurate mammogram, the Genius™ 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ exam. The Genius™ exam is the only mammogram proven to reduce unnecessary callbacks by up to 40 percent, and detect 41 percent more invasive cancers than conventional mammography alone.,
One in every eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, but if caught early, the five-year survival rate is nearly 100 percent., Crow, a breast cancer survivor marking 10 years since her diagnosis, understands the critical importance of early detection and is committed to ensuring women across the country are educated on the life-saving technologies available to them.
"Early detection saves lives — it's that simple," said Crow. "Women need to be advocates for their health, and that means getting annual mammograms starting at age 40 and taking advantage of the best, and most accurate, technologies available. I opted for a Genius™ exam because early detection is what saved my life — it's a woman's best chance at survival, and it's a chance we all deserve."
In April, Hologic launched a national campaign, the Better Mammogram Poll, educating women about the benefits of the Genius™ 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ exam — which is proven to detect cancer 15 months earlier than traditional 2D screenings — as well as providing women with tools to easily find local facilities offering the Genius™ exam. Crow will be an integral part of the campaign, educating women through various media efforts, including a satellite media tour and social media outreach. The campaign will continue through Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2016.
"It's an honor to join forces with such a well-known artist and breast cancer survivor days before National Cancer Survivors Day," said Pete Valenti, Hologic's Division President, Breast and Skeletal Health Solutions. "We remain resolute in our commitment to developing innovative new technologies, like the Genius™ exam, which detects more invasive cancers than conventional mammography, improving a woman's chance of survival. We look forward to working with Sheryl as we continue to spread the message that early detection saves lives."
As part of the Company's commitment to helping people survive cancer, Hologic will donate $30,000 to Stand Up To Cancer, a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation focused on raising funds to accelerate the pace of research to get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now. The donation is part of the Company's larger pledge to make 30 donations of up to $30,000 each during its 30th anniversary year to select non-profit organizations focused on education and healthcare.
The Genius™ 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ exam is FDA-approved and available on the Hologic Selenia® Dimensions® system. Additional information, as well as a locator to find imaging sites offering Genius™ 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ exams, can be found at http://mygenius3d.com/.
