RUSSELL TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- LaureLive showed its star power on Sunday, June 9 with a lineup that merged the biggest musicians of today with those of past decades.
The Northeast Ohio music festival featured performances by Sheryl Crow, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Lake Street Dive, AJR and more. Sunday was the second (and final) day of LaureLive, following Saturday’s performances by Hozier, Dirty Heads and more.
Sunday’s lineup included Crow, the biggest name LaureLive has brought onstage in its four-year run at Laurel School’s Butler campus. And the rock star, who has won nine Grammy awards in her lifetime, did not disappoint.
Immediately, Crow launched into fan-favorite “If It Makes You Happy,” and went on to perform hits like “Everyday Is A Winding Road,” “All I Wanna Do” and “My Favorite Mistake.”
Midway through her set, a light sprinkling of rain scattered over the LaureLive grounds. Around this time, much of the audience dispersed, streaming out of the festival, making the crowd a little thin for the remainder of Crow’s show.
Crow took a few opportunities to shout out one of her favorite bands, and fellow LaureLive act, Lake Street Dive. During her show, Crow sported a Lake Street Dive t-shirt and talked about her love for the band, especially its bassist, Bridget Kearney.
Crow had caught Lake Street Dive’s performance earlier, and said that her children got to meet the members of AJR, another LaureLive act, backstage.
“This is so cool,” she said to her audience. “You guys are so lucky."
