Chart-topping country singer Sheryl Crow may be best known for her success in the music industry - but it seems the 56-year-old may well have achieved a near-impossible fashion feat: finding a perfect ensemble that never goes out of style.

The musician, who recently launched a new collection of clothing with HSN, revealed that she has been wearing the same fashion formula for the past 30 years, having landed on the perfect style combination when she first burst onto the music scene three decades ago.

'Honestly, my style hasn’t changed that much [in 30 years],' she told DailyMail.com. 'I still gravitate towards comfy, fitted t-shirts, a great pair of jeans or a maxi dress and cowboy boots.

'I also think jackets are really important. There is a new studded faux suede fringe jacket in my HSN collection that can really add a “wow" factor to your favorite pair of jeans.'

Even when it comes to performing on-stage, Sheryl has the perfect wardrobe picks all lines up - choosing to eschew the multiple costume changes that many musicians opt for during a live show, in favor of something much more simple, but just as stylish.

'On stage, it’s about comfort and cool for me because I move around a lot,' she explained.

'I usually wear a great pair of tricked out jeans, a statement tee and a “wow” jacket paired with sneakers. Every day I just love wearing jeans and T-shirts paired with western boots.

'It’s about creating unexpected combinations, like an embellished top with a pair of jeans or a really basic tank with a great pair of pants and a super unique topper.

'My closet is filled with many vintage pieces I’ve collected over the years, so it’s also a lot fun to mix the old and the new.'

Having been in the public eye for so many years, Sheryl has also learned a trick or two about boosting her self-confidence in the spotlight - particularly when it comes to a more daring look.

'I always say it's best to stay true to yourself, your own personal style,' she said.

'If you have your eye on a new top or jacket that you feel is too edgy, try dressing it down with your favorite pair of jeans. You can never go wrong with casual chic. When you’re comfortable with what you’re wearing, then you naturally exude confidence.'

And nowhere is that more true for Sheryl than on the stage, in front of an audience - where what she wears really serves as a foundation for her confidence.

'What I wear on stage really sets the tone for my performance,' she revealed. 'If I feel good about what I’m wearing, it definitely gives me a confidence boost. I always like to try and find a good balance of comfort and glam.'

Her love of fashion served as the key source of inspiration when it came to creating her own line, with the singer revealing that she turned to her love of equestrian style to create her latest line.

'I draw inspiration from my own closet, especially from some of my favorite custom and one of a kind pieces,' she said.

'I’ve also always loved the equestrian look. For my latest collection on HSN, I designed a scarf with a horse print and this beautiful riding jacket with faux suede elbows and crystal skull applique on the back. It’s a true statement piece that never goes out of style. It's tailored but still relaxed and truly feminine.

'Americana also drives many pieces in the line. I’m a big collector of anything and everything Americana. It’s a part of my lifestyle and who I am at home and in my music.'

The inspiration behind the collection, and its overall look, weren't the only things that went into creating Sheryl's HSN line; the singer also put a great deal of thought into ensuring that each style would suit a wide variety of body shapes and sizes.

'In designing the line, I keep in mind how women of all shapes and sizes want to experience fashion,' she explained.

'I really want her to feel beautiful and comfortable in every piece of my collection. Our jeans, tunics, and maxi dresses are all designed with just the right amount of ease for a very flattering fit — no matter what size you wear.

'We offer the collection in a wide range of sizes, from XS-3X.'

And while Sheryl's position as a chart-topping musician affords her access to some of the best stylists, and the best fashion labels, in the world, she insists you don't have to shell out a fortune in order to create a stylish look.

In fact, she believes that as long as you are willing to go the extra mile with a few special details, any low-budget look can be given the same high-fashion sparkle as a one-of-a-kind designer item.

'It’s all in the details,' she noted. 'Adding unique sequin embellishment, an original screen printed lining or a gorgeous embroidery to a basic pair of great fitting jeans makes the product look super expensive while at the same time comfortable and flattering.

'Over the years, I’ve learned that the best way balance out your wardrobe is by mixing the old with the new, and expensive items with more affordable priced items.

'When I’m on the road, I visit vintage shops and finding old treasures that I can pair with the newer items in my closet, it’s a great way to create a unique style that’s all your own; the Americana studded Sherpa moto jacket in my current collection with HSN was inspired by a vintage piece that I discovered while on the road.'
